Accessibility
Our commitment to digital accessibility for all users.
Last Updated: April 2026
1. Our Commitment
GIGDATA LLC, doing business as Lake Forest Computer Company, is committed to ensuring digital accessibility for people of all abilities. This commitment applies to lakeforestcomputer.com and the client-facing services we build, host, and maintain. We believe that every user deserves equal access to information and functionality, regardless of disability, assistive technology, or browsing environment.
2. Conformance Status
We target conformance with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1, Level AA. WCAG 2.1 Level AA is the widely accepted standard for web accessibility and addresses the majority of barriers that users with disabilities encounter online. We regularly evaluate our website against these guidelines and make improvements as standards evolve.
3. Accessibility Features
This website incorporates the following accessibility features:
- Semantic HTML: Proper use of headings, landmarks, lists, and structural elements to support screen readers and assistive technologies
- Keyboard Navigation: All interactive elements are accessible via keyboard, including menus, links, and form controls
- Skip-to-Content Link: A skip navigation link is provided at the top of every page, allowing keyboard users to bypass repetitive navigation
- Color Contrast: Text and interactive elements meet WCAG AA contrast ratio requirements (minimum 4.5:1 for normal text, 3:1 for large text)
- Focus Indicators: Visible focus styles are applied to all interactive elements for keyboard users
- Alternative Text: Images include descriptive alt text to convey meaning to users who cannot see them
- Responsive Design: The layout adapts to different screen sizes, zoom levels, and orientations without loss of content or functionality
- No Motion Triggers: The site does not use auto-playing animations, carousels, or motion effects that could affect users with vestibular disorders
- ARIA Roles: ARIA attributes are used on navigation menus and interactive components to communicate roles, states, and properties to assistive technologies
4. Known Limitations
Despite our best efforts, some limitations exist:
- Google Fonts: This site loads fonts from Google Fonts, an external dependency. While the fonts themselves do not introduce accessibility barriers, the external request may affect performance on slow connections.
- Third-Party Badge Images: The AI-Signed verification badge in the footer is loaded from an external service. We provide descriptive alt text but cannot control the external image's rendering characteristics.
5. Testing
We evaluate accessibility through a combination of:
- Automated accessibility testing tools
- Manual keyboard and screen reader testing
- Code review against WCAG 2.1 Level AA success criteria
We also develop and maintain WCAG Repair, a sister product that provides automated WCAG compliance scanning and remediation guidance for websites. The same accessibility expertise that powers that product is applied to our own web properties.
6. Client Websites
We apply accessibility best practices to all client web development projects as part of our standard development process. This includes semantic markup, keyboard accessibility, color contrast compliance, and alt text for images. For clients requiring formal WCAG compliance, we offer accessibility auditing and remediation as an add-on service.
7. Feedback and Contact
