Our policy on refunds, cancellations, and service credits.

1. Overview
Lake Forest Computer Company, operated by GIGDATA LLC, provides business-to-business IT services including managed hosting, email, virtual machines, custom software development, e-commerce solutions, web development, IT asset disposition (ITAD), AI automation, product development, and IT hardware sales. Refund and cancellation terms are governed by individual service agreements where applicable. This policy outlines our general refund guidelines in the absence of a specific written agreement.
2. Recurring Services
Recurring services — including managed hosting, email hosting, and virtual machine management — are billed monthly in advance. The following terms apply:
- Fees paid for the current billing period are non-refundable
- Cancellation requires 30 days' written notice
- Access to services continues through the end of the current billing period after cancellation notice is received
- No partial-month refunds are issued for mid-cycle cancellations
3. Custom Development Projects
Custom development engagements are structured around milestone-based payments as defined in the applicable statement of work (SOW). The following terms apply:
- Completed and accepted milestones are non-refundable
- If we fail to deliver a milestone as defined in the SOW, we will refund the payment associated with that milestone
- Work in progress at the time of cancellation is billed based on effort completed, as outlined in the SOW termination clause
- Deposits or retainers are applied toward the first milestone unless otherwise specified
4. IT Hardware Sales
Hardware is sold as-is unless a manufacturer warranty is explicitly specified at the time of purchase. The following terms apply:
- Hardware that is defective on arrival may be replaced or refunded within 14 days of delivery, provided the defect is reported promptly and the hardware is returned in its original condition
- Custom-configured hardware (built to order, custom firmware, or client-specified configurations) is non-returnable and non-refundable
- Manufacturer warranty claims are handled through the manufacturer's standard warranty process; we will assist with warranty coordination where possible
5. IT Asset Disposition (ITAD)
ITAD services include secure data destruction, equipment decommissioning, and certified recycling or remarketing. The following terms apply:
- ITAD service fees are non-refundable once processing of assets has begun
- Certificates of data destruction are provided upon completion of secure wiping or physical destruction
- Any remarketing proceeds are handled per the terms of the ITAD service agreement
6. Service Credits
If hosted services fall below the 99.9% uptime commitment defined in your service agreement, service credits may be applied as follows:
- Credit amounts are calculated per the terms of your individual service agreement
- Credits are applied to the next invoice and are not redeemable for cash
- Service credit requests must be submitted within 30 days of the downtime event
- Scheduled maintenance windows and force majeure events are excluded from uptime calculations
7. Billing Disputes
If you believe an invoice contains an error or you have a billing concern:
- Contact us within 30 days of the invoice date
- Include your account or invoice number and a description of the dispute
- We will investigate and respond within 10 business days
- Undisputed portions of an invoice remain due per the original payment terms
8. Cancellation
Cancellation terms depend on the type of service:
- Recurring services: 30 days' written notice is required. We provide data transition assistance to help migrate your services to another provider. The final invoice covers the notice period.
- Project work: Cancellation is governed by the termination clause in the applicable SOW. Work completed up to the cancellation date is billed per the SOW terms.
- Hardware orders: Orders may be cancelled before shipment. Once shipped, standard return terms apply.
