iPhone X, XS and XS Max Microsoldering Repair
The X-series moved to a stacked 'sandwich' board design, which means some faults need a full board reball rather than a single-chip fix. We diagnose which one your phone needs before quoting.
We ship your device to our third-party repair partner, who performs the board-level work in their clean, dedicated microsoldering facility. Lake Forest Computer handles intake, logistics, insurance and communication end to end — you deal with us, not them. Current lead time is 4–6 weeks door to door. All parcels ship USPS with signature required.

What these faults actually are
Sandwich reball vs. bottom board swap — why the price differs
The X-series board is two boards fused face-to-face. Some faults (no service, no touch) can be fixed by reballing the stacked package in place. Others — persistent no touch or no service after a reball, no WiFi/Bluetooth, or no audio — trace to the bottom board itself and need that board swapped, which is more involved and priced accordingly. We diagnose which one applies before starting work, not after.
Face ID and the dot projector
The TrueDepth dot projector that powers Face ID is a small, delicate flex assembly. A torn or disconnected flex shows up as Face ID failing or the phone bootlooping on the Apple logo, and it's a routine flex-level repair, not a full board fault.
How depot repair works
You contact us and describe the fault. We confirm the price from the table above, take payment for shipping, and send you the details to get the device to the depot. Our repair partner diagnoses it, performs the board-level work, and tests it. It ships back to you USPS with signature required. Door to door, budget 4–6 weeks.

Frequently Asked Questions
How do you know whether I need a reball or a bottom board swap?
We diagnose the fault at the bench before quoting a final price. Both repairs are listed so you know the price range up front, and we tell you which one your phone actually needs before any soldering happens.
Will I lose my data?
No — these are non-destructive board repairs. Only CPU-swap data recovery wipes the device, and we confirm that with you first.
What if the repair fails?
No repair fee in most cases, return shipping only. A $60 bench fee applies to devices already opened by another shop.
Does this apply to all three models — X, XS, and XS Max?
Yes, all three share this board family and pricing.
