iPhone NAND Memory Upgrade
A NAND upgrade replaces your iPhone's storage chip with a larger one, giving an older phone more room without buying a new device. It's a board-level swap, and the device is restored and erased as part of the process.
We ship your device to our third-party repair partner, who performs the board-level work in their clean, dedicated microsoldering facility. Lake Forest Computer handles intake, logistics, insurance and communication end to end — you deal with us, not them. Current lead time is 4–6 weeks door to door. All parcels ship USPS with signature required.

What these faults actually are
What a NAND upgrade actually does
The NAND chip is where your iPhone's storage lives. Swapping it for a higher-capacity chip gives an otherwise healthy older phone room for more photos, video and apps, without the cost or hassle of buying a newer model. It's a straightforward board-level swap on the models above.
512 GB availability
The largest capacity chip isn't always in stock, since it's a lower-volume part. When we have to source one, it can add 1–2 weeks to the timeline; we'll tell you up front if that applies to your order.
Your device will be erased
This procedure restores and wipes the device — there's no way around that with a storage-chip swap. Back the phone up yourself before sending it in, or add $60 and we'll back it up and restore it on the new chip for you. Either way, we need the iCloud email and password, or the device sent to us with Find My iPhone already turned off.
How depot repair works
You contact us and describe the fault. We confirm the price from the table above, take payment for shipping, and send you the details to get the device to the depot. Our repair partner diagnoses it, performs the board-level work, and tests it. It ships back to you USPS with signature required. Door to door, budget 4–6 weeks.

Frequently Asked Questions
Will I lose everything on my phone?
Yes, the phone is wiped as part of the upgrade. Back it up yourself first, or pay $60 for us to back it up and restore it for you.
Why do you need my iCloud login?
To restore your backup onto the new chip, or to confirm Find My iPhone is off if you'd rather send the phone in without sharing credentials — either path works.
Is 512 GB always available?
Not always — it's a lower-volume part, and sourcing it can add 1–2 weeks. We'll flag that at intake if it applies.
Can I upgrade any iPhone to any capacity?
Capacity options are model-specific, shown in the table above — an older board can't always take the largest chip available on a newer one.
